Pet therapy
Christine and Eric, the owners of the farm, are convinced that the company of animals has a beneficial impact on the well-being and balanced state of mind of us humans so they have founded an association which promotes activities such as introducing llamas to the mentally or physically disabled or to persons who are simply in difficulty. They receive groups or individuals for day visits and take individual cases into their family home for longer periods.
Thanks to the experience they have gained during their working lives and their wide range of cultural knowledge, they have long been familiar with the world of the disabled, teaching methods and group activity. In addition, Eric has followed training courses at the “Institut français de Zoothérapie” (a French body specialized in the application of pet therapy – http://www.lazootherapie.com (in French)).
Hence, the activities on the farm are proposed in accordance with the charter on the dignity of the disabled and the relevant French safety rules and regulations and they are tuned to the abilities of the people who come into contact with the animals. The various therapeutic sessions organized take place with a view to offering maximum quality at all times, aimed at the well-being and, especially, safety of the “guests”. It should be borne in mind that Christine and Eric are not doctors and that it is the animals that have the healing powers. The visitors or residents at the farm come into contact with the animals in the best possible circumstances in order to help them develop their latent aptitudes with the aid of their medical supervisors. The therapy provided by the animals should be seen as a complement to traditional healing practices.
LLAMATHERAPY, as well as pet therapy and activities with dogs, cats, horses, pig, rabbits and a donkey – by appointment – for individuals or groups. Activities and prices on request.
